He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Hockemeyer and Edna Hockemeyer (Meyer); his grandson Joseph Hockemeyer; and his siblings, Kenneth Hockemeyer and Evelyn Andrews.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; and his children, Rex Hockemeyer (Deborah), Kerry Hockemeyer (Michele), James Hockemeyer (Shelly), Jill Cain (Jack) and Jan Hockemeyer. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
