He was predeceased by : his father Theodore Rode; his grandparents, Ferdinand "Spider" and Ruby Rode (Elbracht); his brother John Rode; and his sons, Donald Jr. and Theodore "Teddy" Rode.
He is survived by : his sister Diana McGowan; his children, Dakota Rode and Amanda Rode; and his sister Sophie (Stephie Rode). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
