He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Short; his parents, John W. Short and Easter Jeanette Short; his brothers, Donald Short, Richard Short and Arthur Short; and his brother-in-law Dick Maupin.
He is survived by: his children, Billy Short (Denise), John Short (Tammy) and Diana Oberneder (Mike); and his sister Donna Maupin. He is also survived by his 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel (1444 US-52, Fountaintown, IN 46130). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
