He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Essex and Kathaleen Essex (Wood). He is survived by: his wife Misty Essex (Proctor) of New Ross; his children, Nicholas McKinney (Heather) of Crawfordsville, Haley McKinney of Crawfordsville, Baley McKinney of Lebanon, Alissa Smith (Tim) of Crawfordsville and Colton Essex of New Ross; and his brothers, Danny Essex (Rhonda) of Lebanon, Jeff Essex (Doris) of Indianapolis, Ed Essex of Danville and Bruce Essex of Lebanon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Porter and Hunt Funeral Home & Crematory (315 W Main St, Jamestown, IN 46147). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
