We are sad to announce that on May 21, 2026, at the age of 75, Carrie Lee Koons of New Whiteland, Indiana passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Carrie Lee Koons to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parent Maxie; her daughter Shelly Lee Knapp; and her siblings, Loren Arnold Thompson, Tommy Thompson, Jason Thompson, Bill Thompson and Dottie Harrison.
She is survived by: her children, Shannon Freeman (Bob) and Kristen McKinney-Gillock (Matt); her grandchildren, Taylor Sergent (Freddie), Morgan Siefker (Collin), Luke Freeman (Alayna), Bryanna Gillock, Emmett Gillock and Alayna Gillock; her great grandchildren, Serenity Sergent, McKenna Bandy, Maverick Sergent, Teddy Siefker, Xander Sergent, Charlie Siefker and Lizzie Siefker; her brother Jerry Thompson (Peggy); and her sister-in-law Kay Thompson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the New Whiteland Baptist Church (520 Sawmill Rd, Whiteland, IN 46184). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens (1977 S State Rd 135, Greenwood, IN 46143).
She also requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either New Whiteland Baptist Church, Riley Hospital for Children, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
