He was predeceased by: his parents, William Brookshire and Majorie Brookshire (Malone); his brother Robert "Bob" Brookshire; and his wife Dianna Wesner (Wesner). He is survived by: his children, Julie Baker (Martindale) and Dustin Brookshire (Talia); his granddaughters, Casey Baker, Olivia Brookshire, Jenna Brookshire, Skylar Brookshire and Charley Brookshire; and his sister Debra Fish.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Newberry Cornerstone Church or Lyons American Legion Auxiliary.
