She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Dorris and Dorothy Dorris; her husband Charles L. Gibson; her brother Tommy Dorris; her grandson Christopher Kinney; and her great grandchild Kaiser Schlimmer.

She is survived by: her sons, Dewayne Gibson (Lisa), David Gibson (LaVonda) and Todd Gibson; and her grandchildren, Jeremy Gibson, Charlie Gibson, Meghon Gibson, Josh Gibson, Lauren Schlimmer, Jacob Gibson and Shawn Kinney. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Vanderburgh Humane Society, honoring Carol's lifelong love for animals.
