She was predeceased by : her parents, William Charles and Sudie Vaughn (Rogers); her husband Otis Nichols McCown of Carl's Ice Cream Shop; her daughters, Alicia Kay McCown and Phyllis McCown; her siblings, Alma Willadean "Dean" Crawley, Alice Murrell "Jo" Sneed, Henry "Reno" Vaughn and William "Elmo" Vaughn; and her son-in-law Thomas "Tom" Bartley.

She is survived by : her children, Julia Bartley, Sherry Boyd and Jeffrey McCown; her grandchildren, Eliza (Tim), Rachael (Laura), Josh (Nicole), Jessica (Buddy), Casey, Caylea, Carlee and Jeffrey Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Isaiah, Hailey, Jo, Teelin and Luke.
