She was predeceased by: her parents, John Piekema and Doris Piekema (Powers). She is survived by: her husband R. Andrew Byers; her sons, David A. Byers and Douglas J. Byers; her grandchildren, Abby Byers, Hannah Byers and Brendan Byers; her sister Nancy P. Mathiews (David); and her sister-in-law Barbara M. Stout. She is also survived by two nieces and a nephew.
