She was predeceased by: her parents, Jewell Houston and Alice Houston (Bone); her husband Timothy Hephner; her daughter Karen Phelps (Gies); and her sisters, Patsy Hoover (Houston) and Phyllis Sallee (Houston).
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Mattingly (Gies) of Newburgh, IN, Deborah Daniel (Gies) of Evansville, IN, James Gies (Lorie) of High Point, NC and William Gies of Newburgh, IN. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 1 great- great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
