He was predeceased by: his parents, Comma Whitaker (Blake) and Jay Thomas Whitaker; his wife Dorothy "June" Whitaker (Saddler); his daughter Joan Moore; and his siblings, Sherman Whitaker, James R. Whitaker, Jay Thomas Whitaker, Pauline Kirkman and Maggie Pogue.
He is survived by: his sons, Daniel Whitaker (Loretta) and Jeff Whitaker (Tina). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
