With solemn reverence, we commemorate Peggy Lou Shelton of Newburgh, Indiana, born in Kirkwood, Missouri, whose life came to an end on October 16, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband William "Bill" Shelton; her son Mitchell "Gene" Shelton; her parents, Evelyn Richards and Grady Whitecotton; her sister Betty Whitecotton; and her sister-in-law Shirley Moliter (Johnny).
She is survived by: her children, Michelle Kelley (Mike), Mindy George (Art), William "Buddy" Shelton and Gregory Shelton (Teresa); her grandchildren, Lee, Brian, Jesse, Danielle (Blake), Molly (Jason), Alexandria, Mitchell, Owen, Kyle (Sarah) and Alex (Alyssa); her great grandchildren, Amelia, Declan, Eliza, Mason, Ayven, Anya, Mila and Sophie; and her siblings-in-law, Barbara Schmittzehe (John) and Tommy Shelton (Mary). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Alexander Newburgh Chapel (5333 State St #261, Newburgh, IN 47630). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Evansville Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center or Deaconess Riley Children's Services. Donations can be made online.
