He is survived by: his close friend Ann Kautzmann; his son Roy Micah Carter (Dawn); his grandchildren, Roy Olan Carter (Addison), Quincy Carter and Cali Carter; and his siblings, George Carter, Roger Carter (Sharon), William Donald Carter (Susan), Ronnie Carter, Tom Carter, Madonna Combs (Jim) and Sandra Lynn Septer (Jon Douglas).
