He was predeceased by : his parents, Margaret Bruggenschmidt (Graves) and Max Bruggenschmidt; his wife Patty Bruggenschmidt; his granddaughter Kate Bruggenschmidt; and his sister Bonnie.

He is survived by : his stepmother Mildred Bruggenschmidt; his children, Adam Bruggenschmidt (Elizabeth Manabet), Eric Bruggenschmidt (Ashlee), Andrea Wagner (Jeremy) and Carrie Bruggenschmidt; his stepdaughters, Amanda Thompson (Brian Csukas) and Jill Johnson (Mike); his grandchildren, Emma Bruggenschmidt, Natalie, Connor, Grant Wagner, Andy and Gabe Johnson; his siblings, Anna Bruggenschmidt, Mary Brothers, MaDonna Hummel, Susie Newkirk (Tom), David Bruggenschmidt Anita (Charlynn) and Norma Bruggenschmidt; his mother-in-law Bert Thompson; and his brothers, Gary Thompson (Cheryl) and Barrie Fournier (Cheryl Plotts). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
