He was predeceased by : his parents, Victor Barnett and Elizabeth Barnett (Wittgen); his father-in-law Ervin "Bud" (Jeanne Kuester); his brother Victor A. Barnett; and his great grandchild Liam Edward Tullis-Garcia.

He is survived by : his wife Suzanne Barnett (Kuester); his children, Jennifer Tullis (Peter), Dana Moore (Roger) and John Barnett (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Patrick Tullis (Rubi), Samuel Tullis, Anna Marie, Audrey Moore, Tyler Tuley (Katelyn), Claire, Madelyn and Nicholas Barnett; his great grandchildren, Henry, Franklin, Walter Tuley and Everly Tullis-Garcia; and his brother Robert Barnett (Nancy). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
