It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Herbert Schmitz of Newburgh, Indiana, who passed away on April 8, 2026, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Edith (Hillman) and Alvin Schmitz; his wife Brenda Louise Schmitz (Yates); and his siblings, Alora May Bakel and George Schmitz.
He is survived by: his children, Kelly Fehrenbacher (Jarod) of Evansville, IN, Mark Schmitz (Carri) of Lynnville, IN and Scott Schmitz (Christi) of Newburgh, IN; and his grandchildren, Amelia, Camille, Corbin, Christian, Caleb, Naitile, Hayley and Nathan.
