He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, William Alli Sloan, Jr. and Margie Thacker Wheeler; his children, Jeff Sloan (Susan) of Huntingburg, Tara Burris (Michael Shade) of Henderson, Heather Kirkman (Bryan) of Evansville and Alisha Albin (John Beasley) of Newburgh, Indiana; his wife Gloria Sloan of Evansville; his grandchildren, Aaron Sloan, Kayla Kirchner, Brent Sloan, Atlanta Burris, Kasidie Burris, William Burris and Zachary Kirkman; his great grandchildren, Jayden Kirchner, Spencer Kirchner, Merida Sloan, Lorah Sloan, Elijah Sloan, Ava Burris and Karter Burris; and his siblings, Robert Sloan (Faye) of Francisco and Judy Robb of Princeton, Indiana..

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Short Cunningham Funeral Home (527 N Mulberry St, Mt Carmel, IL 62863). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at the Highland Memorial Cemetery.
