With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Devela Lawson of Nineveh, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 26, 2025 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Burton and Mildred Burton (Burton). She is survived by: her husband Jackie Lawson; her daughter Kelly Chastain (Brian); her stepdaughters, Amy Arteaga (Jorge) and Nancy Wood (David); her grandchildren, Alexis Arteaga and Spencer Wood; her siblings, Arcena Burton (Larry), Donnie Burton (Mary), Troy Burton (Paula) and Tina Julbert (Jonathan); and her stepsiblings, Stanley Curry and Jackie Crawhorn. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces, great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home (2898 N Morton St, Franklin, IN 46131). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
