He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Whitaker and Loretta Whitaker (Marshall); his sister Loretta Sue Whitaker; and his grandparents, Taylor Marshall, Mary Marshall, Lavatis Minix and Lewis Whitaker.
He is survived by: his children, Adam Risner of Knox and Courtney Whitaker (Tom Sobieck) of Valparaiso; his grandchildren, Patience Risner, Damian Risner of Knox and Lilliana Sobieck of Valparaiso; and his siblings, Glenna Fitzgerald (Dave) of Noblesville, Jay Whitaker (Vicki) of Knox and Rocky Whitaker of Plymouth. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel (108 S Main St, Knox, IN 46534). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
