He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard McFarland and Claire McFarland (Burkus); his wife Carol Muessel; his son Harrison McFarland; his brother Pat; and his sister-in-law Sandy McFarland.
He is survived by: his children, Colleen Laderer (Jeff) of South Bend, Indiana and Shannon McFarland (Alana) of Plymouth, Indiana; his grandchildren, Meredith Drinkhall (Justin), Haley Smith (Blake), Caroline Ruszkowski (Ashton), Amanda Roop (Owen) and Susie McFarland; his great grandchildren, Layla Smith and Everett Roop; his former wife Susanne Lamb; and his siblings-in-law, Mickey Hay (Mike), Mary Muessel (Ford) and Chuck Muessel.
