He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Howard and Bertha Howard; his siblings, Opal Meck, Ora Gillend, Jeannie Johnson, Mitchell Howard Sr., Hatcher Howard, Wade Howard, Kendle Howard (Fred Howard Jr.) and George Montgomery Jr.; and his parents-in-law, Robert and Merlee Christie.
He is survived by: his wife Carla Howard; his daughters, Shannon Tracy (Dick) of Wabash, Cara Howard of North Manchester and Christa Crabill (Brian) of Urbana, Indiana; his grandchildren, Devin Tracy (Madison) of Wabash, Catherine Tracy of Wabash, Eric Tracy of Wabash, Issiac Mitchell (Madisen) and Everett Crabill; his great grandchild Leighton Jane Tracy of Lagro, Indiana; and his brother Lawrence "Larry" Howard (Frencesca Oliveri). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, August 14th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the McKee Mortuary (1401 W State Rd 114, North Manchester, IN 46962). A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
