He is survived by: his friend Mike Midler; his wife Suzanna Bellamy Hicks; his daughters, Sara Hicks Hinkle of Fishers, IN and Morgan S. Hicks of Weehawken; his grandchildren, Ashlyn G. Hinkle, Isla E. Hinkle and Beckham W. Hinkle; his brother Thomas L. Hicks (Linda) of Battle Creek, MI; his brother-in-law Ernest Stone; and his stepsiblings, Scott Bryan, Larry Bryan and Sharon Nicholson.
