He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Wieland (Larry) and Betty Wieland (Canter); and his parents-in-law, Frederick and Marcile Becker (Ellis). He is survived by: his pet Charlie; his children, Heather Howard (Matt), Kyle Wieland (Julia), Heidi Wieland (Jennifer Howard) and Kasha Shah (Raju); his grandchildren, Brooklyn, Carsyn, Avery Howard, Austin Wieland (London Spangle), Kaidyn (Trey Howard) and Raegen (Remik Shah); his sisters, Ann Gump (Robert) of Monaca and Tammy Nelson (Brian) of Longwood; and his close friends, Dr. Lori Zimmerman and Dr. Elizabeth Struble. He is also survived by relatives, people he became a father figure to, friends.

“Rex, as my cousin, was one of my closest childhood friends. We were together every sunday at church and often other times during the week (playing softball, bowling in hastings, etc.). We shared so many growing up experiences together....successes, challenges, happy times, and sad times.
