He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Day and Fern A. Day (Stub); his wife Helga Mayerthaler; his former wife Shirley; and his brother Orville Joe Day.
He is survived by: his children, Harold Day (Shelly) of Scipio, Alvin Day of Bedford, Carl Day Jr. of Colorado and Tammy Jo Jaeger (David) of Seymour; his grandchildren, Ronni Jaeger of Seymour, David Jaeger of Seymour, Corey Wetzel of Wilks Barre, Skylar Day of Cherry Point, Tara Herr of Scipio and Travis Day of Scipio; and his great grandchildren, Shealynn Herr of Scipio, Scarlett Herr of Scipio, Emerald Herr of Scipio and Ezra Herr of Scipio.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home (420 S State St, North Vernon, IN 47265). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at the Vernon Cemetery (315 S Pike St, Vernon, IN 47282).
