He was predeceased by: his sister Stacy Brooks Tiemeyer; and his grandparents, Ralph, Jennie Brooks, Robert and Marilyn Petty.
He is survived by: his parents, Emerson Brooks and Sheila Brooks (Petty); his sister Amber Redicker (Russell); his nieces, Kylee Walters (Dakota Ponsler), Lauren Walters (Eligh Gabbard-Heitz), Brooklyn Walters and Emma Redicker; his aunts and uncles, Rosalin (Steve Childress), Wilma (Rick Tschaenn), Roger (Becky Brooks), Kevin Petty, Kim (Dan Shanahan) and Kerry (Tony Pierce); and his close friend Howard Jones (Coach).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Family Foundation or Mercy Rescue in honor of David.
