He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Ponsler and Helen Ida Ponsler (Burgess); his sister Patty Moore; and his stepson Charles Kasper. He is survived by: his mother-in-law Sherry Jones; his wife Sherry; his son Michael "Mickey" Ponsler; his stepsons, Timothy Kasper and Terry Scott Kasper; his grandchildren, Wyatt Ponsler, Valerie Zebel, Joshua Kasper, Randy Kasper and Brad Wilkerson; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Riley, Jackson and Christopher; his brother-in-law John Moore; his niece Lisa Moore; and his nephew Wayne Moore.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home (420 S State St, North Vernon, IN 47265). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at the Vernon Cemetery (315 S Pike St, Vernon, IN 47282).
