She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Levi and Imogene Killey (Collins); her husband Earl Gabbard; her former husband Bobby James Hobson; her daughters, Nora and Teresa Hobson; her siblings, Ernest Gerald "Jerry", Johnny Ray Killey, Dorothy Huff and Martha Nease; and her grandchildren, T. J. Graham, Heather Hobson, Jason Hobson, Dustin Robbins and Misty Graham.
She is survived by: her children, Bobby Hobson (Brenda) of North Vernon, Donald Hobson of North Vernon, William Hobson (Cathy) of Columbus, Ohio and Edith Hobson of Harrison, Ohio; her stepchildren, Kevin Gabbard of Seymour, Delbert Gabbard of North Vernon and Terri Gabbard of Seymour; her brother Steve Killey (Phyllis) of Austin; and her adoptive children, Trinity, Tristian and Trina McDonald. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in honor of Joan through the funeral home to the North Vernon Moose Lodge.
