He is survived by: his wife Ella Pitts of Virginia; his sons, George L. Christy of Madison and William R. "Rusty" Christy (Debbie) of Tennessee; his sisters, Carolyn Sue Martin of Columbus and Della Gilpin of Columbus; and his granddaughter Ashley Christy of Tennessee.
