He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Saracino and Emily Saracino (Schneider); his brother Hugh Saracino; his daughter Lauren Saracino; and his brothers-in-law, Mark Rausch and Jack Brown.

He is survived by : his children, Christina Blakey (Jack), Gena Crane (Ben) and Danny Saracino; his grandchildren, Joseph, Charlie, Daniel, George, Cecily and Josie; his siblings, JoAnne Brown, Suzie Cox (Steve), Michele Schroder (Roger) and Mary Beth Russo (Mike); and his sister-in-law Dierdre Saracino.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McGann Hay University Chapel (2313 Edison Rd, South Bend, IN 46615). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart (101 Basilica Dr, Notre Dame, IN 46556). A burial was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

“Dear Marcia and Family, I was a friend of Dan's since SJHS. I have not lived in South Bend since high school and went to Indiana U. rather than ND. Hence, our contact was sporadic especially during your years on the west coast. I do have many connections with Santa Clara University. I had the good fortune to reconnect at the mini-reunion of SJHS grads in 2022 and during a visit at Holy Cross Village last summer. I will cherish his friendship until my own death.
