He was predeceased by : his parents, John Robert and Edith Kate Rhoades (Patterson); his wife Jane Rhoades (Armstrong); and his siblings, Billy Rhoades and Betty Rhoades.

He is survived by : his children, Robert Douglas Rhoades (Gretchen) of Terre Haute and Debra Jane Rhoades of Greenwood, IN; his grandchildren, Dustin Rhoades (Kailey) and Christina McKeehan (Billy); and his great grandchildren, Ava, Deacon, Ellie McKeehan, Camden, Addelyn and Sadie Rhoades.
