He is survived by: his children, Robert "Bob" Holtel (Shawn) of Oldenburg, Mary Jo Beck of Batesville, Nancy Marticke (Steve) of Ft Myers Florida and Karen Pratt (Mark) of Osgood, Indiana; his daughter-in-law Sally Holtel of Cincinnati, Ohio; his grandchildren, Jim, Brian, Lisa, Eric, Kevin, Leslie, Katherine, Tori and Cassie; his stepgranddaughter Marsha; and his great grandchildren, Alex, Emma, Sam, Ethan, Logan, Madilyn, Leo, Amelia and Bernadette.
He was awarded the Indiana Sycamore of the Wabash Award by the Governor for his contributions to his country and his community.
