He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Coyner and Mary Lou Coyner (Murphy); and his sister Linda (Trudy Elkins-Cox). He is survived by: his daughters, Marcy Garcia (Ricardo) of South Bend, Natasha Wolf (Josh) of Fountain City, IN, Tiffany Williams (Jeremiah Brownbridge) of Osceola and Megan Holt (Eric) of South Bend; his grandchildren, Mario Garcia, Lennon Holt, Owen, Adelaide, Lina Brownbridge, Sienna, Xrryant Fraser and Remington Wolf; and his sister Laura Zillman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to USO in memory of David.
