He was predeceased by: his parents, Rex Russell and Judith Levy; and his siblings, Jeffrey and Dana. He is survived by: his former wife Janet Russell; his sons, Matthew Russell and Joseph Russell (Stephanie); his adoptive son Benjamin Hansen; his stepmother Beverly Russell; his siblings, Melvin Russell, David Russell (Brooke), Rebecca Russell and Claudia Russell; his stepsister Lydia Shelton; and his siblings' children, Jonathan Hansen, Dominic Russell, Nathan Dancy and Lauren Russell. He is also survived by several great-nephews and great-nieces, his uncle and aunt, and dear cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project in support of veterans harmed in the line of duty. Make a donation to one of the following charities in remembrance of Steven Russell.
