James W. Crosby Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James W. Crosby of Ossian, Indiana, who passed away on April 6, 2026 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred V. Crosby and Amelia A. Crosby (Fuelling); his former wife Elvira Ostermeyer; and his siblings, Mary Thieme, Charles and Franklin Crosby.

He is survived by: his wife Anna Crosby of Ossian, Indiana; his children, Jeffrey Crosby (Cyndi) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Christine Melcher (Gary) of Sheboygan, Wisconsin and Robert Crosby (Susan) of Kendallville, Indiana; his sister Dorothy Smith of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and his grandchildren, Adam Crosby (Stephanie), Travis Crosby (Becca), Jordan Crosby (Kendra), Joshua Melcher (Nikole), Ryan Melcher (Jackie), Jessica Zablocki (Chris), Parker Crosby (Natalie) and Brogan Sittema (Robert). He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.
