It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Jean Ziegler of Palmyra, Indiana, who passed away on November 21, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Henry and Ruby Mattingly (Holcomb); her husband George Joseph Ziegler, Jr.; her sons, George Ziegler and Timothy Ziegler; and her brother Charles Mattingly.
She is survived by: her children, Kathi Richardson (Marcus), Patricia Ebersold, Brenda Kern (Ron), Edmund Ziegler (Sabine), Matthew Ziegler (Susan) and Kimberly Basham (James); and her siblings, Joyce Young (Bill), Michael Mattingly (Elaine) and Darlene Ackerman. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Owen Funeral Home (5317 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40216). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
