He was predeceased by: his brother Rick Smetzer. He is survived by: his parents, Dan Smetzer and Patricia Smetzer (Martin) of Bloomfield; his wife Sharon Smetzer (Pratt) of Paoli; his adoptive daughters, Havanna Artrip of Paoli and Brianna Bird of French Lick; his stepson Marcus Hutslar of French Lick; his siblings, Vicki Simms (Sherman) of Mooresville, Curtis Smetzer (Carla) of Paoli and Danny Smetzer (Misty) of Georgia; and his sister-in-law Kathy Smetzer of Clayton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McAdams Mortuary (500 SW 1st St, Paoli, IN 47454). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
