He was predeceased by: his parents, Odie Fields and Nellie Patton Fields; and his children, Nicky Dale Fields and Anita Wellman. He is survived by: his wife Martha Wells; his siblings, Virgil Fields and Grace Payton; his sons, Rick Fields, Danny Fields, Dickie Wellman and Bryan Wellman; and his stepdaughter Rhonda Curtsinger. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Dillman-Scott Funeral Home (226 W Campbell St, Paoli, IN 47454). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mount Gilead Church (1992 N County Rd 125 W, Paoli, IN 47454).
