She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmerson Newby and Zelma Newby (Osborne); her husband Lewis Rice; her granddaughter Jeanette Reichel; and her brother Gene Giles.
She is survived by: her children, Paula Byrn (Edward) of Greenville, Lisa Dunaway of Corydon, Becky Rice of Paoli, Lewis Rice Jr. of Paoli and Matthew Rice of Corydon; and her siblings, Kathryn Norman of Salem, Phyllis Fearey (Bob) of Salem, Larry Newby of Salem and James Newby (Kimberly Kaye) of Salem. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 9 great great-grandchildren.
