Robert L. Gilmore Obituary
We bid farewell to Robert L. Gilmore (Parker City, Indiana), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 25, 2025 at the age of 89. Robert touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleo L. Gilmore and Reva L. Miller (Rawlings); his stepfather Burl Miller; his in-laws, Charles and Lydia Lewis; his sister Rita; his brothers-in-law, Jack Heuss and James Lewis; his nephews, Jeff Heuss and Terry Swindell; and his grandson Craig Shafer.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann Lewis; his children, Ginger Shafer (Spencer) and Gregory Gilmore; his grandchildren, Dustin Shafer (Ali) and Jenna Hedden; his great grandchildren, Jason and Skylar; his sister-in-law Hazel Lewis; and his sibling's children, Jerilyn Yerkes, Jeanine Long (Scott), Peggy Swindell, Paula Key (Brad) and James Lewis (Diana). He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. (2048 N 1000 W, Parker City, IN 47368). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
