Steve E. Coplen Obituary
We announce the death of Steve E. Coplen of Patriot, Indiana, who passed away on September 14, 2026, at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Artimus "Bill" F. Coplen and Helen N. Coplen (Sanner); his son Barry Lee Coplen; his sister Judy Dell Coplen; his son-in-law Robert Paul "Bob" Kitson; and his siblings-in-law, Jo Anne Coplen (Lowry) and Larry Elliott.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Kaye Coplen (Elliott) of Patriot, IN; his children, Melody Kitson of Patriot, IN and Mark Coplen (Robin) of Patriot, IN; his daughter-in-law Jackie Tolson of Warsaw, KY; his grandchildren, Brandon Coplen (Jessica), Nicole Kitson, Derek Andrews (Miranda), Cortney Rose (Payton), Erica Clark (Patrick), Steven Coplen (Heather), Jessi Coplen (Abbi) and Devon Taylor (Stacy); his great grandchildren, Mandyann Taylor, Aiden Taylor, Brady Coplen, Addie Coplen, Scarlett Rose, Hunter Merida, Joey Merida, Dylan Hemingway, Austin Hemingway, Aby Hemingway and Payton Smith; and his brother Dave Coplen of South Bend, IN. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Concord Community Church (7578 Concord Rd, Patriot, IN 47038). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Switzerland Masonic Lodge #122 F&AM or Concord Community Church.
