We are sad to announce that, on July 25, 2025, at the age of 78, Van L. Thacker of Patriot, Indiana, born in Lawrenceburg, Indiana passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Van L. Thacker to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Ruth Bunger (Miller) and Willis Lee Thacker; his stepfather Robert "Skip" Bunger; his siblings, Wayne Rider and Darlene; and his brother-in-law Clyde Carter.

He is survived by: his wife Sandy Thacker (Thompson) of Patriot, IN; his son Ronald E. Holt (Virginia) of Patriot, IN; and his grandchildren, Laci Waine, Dillan Holt, Katie Batchlor, Josh Chase and Danielle Johnson. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Patriot Baptist Church.
