He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Brooks, Sr. and Louise Brooks (Payne); his children, Nathan Blake and Kara Brooks; and his sisters, Phyllis Brooks and Joyce Brooks-Gambrel.
He is survived by: his wife Laura L. Brooks (Dowdle); his daughters, Heather Jacobi (David) and Tara Miller (Ben); his brothers, Wayne Brooks (Linda) and Jerry Brooks (Jessie); and his grandchildren, Mitchell Marlman (Holly), Hailey Jackson (Kyle), Jaxon Blake (Destiny), Heidi Smallwood, Cami Smallwood and Jack Miller. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews.
