He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Kahl and Martha Kahl (Waymire); his former wife Linda Kahl (Stoner); and his stepfather Walter V. Milner. He is survived by: his wife Beckie Steele Kahl; his daughters, Beth Humphrey (Kenny) and Susan Baker (Terry); his sister Karen Noland (Darrel); his grandchildren, Ali Chatham, Kacie Ring and Kellie Ring; his great grandchild Kyler Ring; his stepchildren, Todd Steele (Molly), Tamara Steele (Brent Brunnemer) and Tiffany McAvoy (John); and his stepgrandchildren, Miller Steele, Catherine Steele, Jack McAvoy, William Steele, Rand McAvoy, Mitchell Steele, Arden McAvoy and Josie Brunnemer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their children.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lahm Chapel (222 E State St, Pendleton, IN 46064). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (225 W State St, Pendleton, IN 46064).
