He was predeceased by: his parents, Thadd Flaherty and Mary Flaherty; his stepfather Ron Farrell; his sister Debbie Coleman; and his stepbrother Randy Farrell.
He is survived by: his wife Liz; his children, Chris Flaherty (Tahne) of Richmond, KY, Kari Wilson (Jim) of Peru, IN and Jock Flaherty (Laura) of Danville, IN.; his grandchildren, Mari Gridley (Charley), Tierney Patton (Jeff), Skyler Wilson, Shea Wilson, Connor Wilson, Fionnegan Flaherty and Eamon Flaherty; his great grandchild Jeffrey Scott Patton III; and his sisters, Betty Tyne (Mark) of Church Hill, TN, Lynn Lewis (Roy) of Pace, FL and Kay Weathington of Watertown, IN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the McClain Funeral Home (3500 IN-16, Denver, IN 46926).
In lieu of flowers, Duane's family requests that donations be directed to the North Miami Music Department.
