With solemn reverence, we commemorate Eclista Birner (Peru, Indiana), whose life came to an end on October 4, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent Eathel Fay Mongosa (Walker); her husband Sam; her sons, Joseph Allen and Michael Vance Birner; her father Lyman Mongosa; her siblings, Henrietta Mongosa, Carolyn Knauff, Lyman L. "Henry" and Truman "Joey" Mongosa; and her great great grandchild Cole Taylor.
She is survived by: her son Neal Birner; her grandchildren, Misty Grayson (Michael), Melissa Black (Todd), Michelle Daily (Travis), Matt Briner (Erica), Jenny Steele (Travis), Shallyn Garbaciak (Daniel), Curtis Birner, Jennifer Rairigh and Wesley Birner (Tiffany); and her siblings, Delmar Mongosa, Doris Harshman and Helen Alexander. She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Mount Hope Cemetery (411 N Grant St, Peru, IN 46970).
Flowers may be sent to Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Miami Nation of Indians of Indiana in Eclista's honor.
