He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Shafer and Arnol Shafer; and his brothers, Max and Bob. He is survived by: his wife Charlene Shafer; his children, Noel Shafer (Amy), Tricia Edwards (Eric), Cheri Lantz (Greg) and Melissa Kehoe (Jim); his grandchildren, Amanda, Allison, Neo, Jack, Rowan, Beckett, Maddie, Alyssa and Ethan; and his sister Carolyn Jean Wilson. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donation may be made through the funeral home to First Brethren Church of Mexico, Indiana.
