She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. John McDermott and Margaret Feiner McDermott; her husband Richard Fritz; her son-in-law Hanley Hartz; and her siblings, Rita Raab, Russell McDermott, Benard McDermott, Vincent McDermott and Robert McDermott.

She is survived by: her children, John Fritz (Debbra) of Peru, Sharon Hartz of Bowling Green, KY, Paul Fritz (Susan) of Georgetown, MA, Marilyn Fritz of Peru, Patricia Gibson (Richard) of New Albany, OH, Mary Jo Glassburn (Richard) of Peru and Col. James Fritz (Kim); and her grandchildren, Lecia Spence (Jacob), Leslie Beauchamp (Cory), Nathan Hartz (Jennifer), Ryan Hartz (Kelly), Tim Hartz, Aaron Hartz, Patrick Gibson (Shari), Elizabeth Ingles (Jamie), Evan Glassburn, Austin Glassburn, Natalie Fritz, Mia Fritz and James R. Fritz. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, one step-great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home (84 W Main St, Peru, IN 46970). A prayer was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Charles Catholic Church (58 W 5th St, Peru, IN 46970). A burial was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Ever Rest Memorial Park (8315 Logansport Rd, Logansport, IN 46947).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to St. Charles Catholic Church or Miami County Helping Hands.
