He was predeceased by : his parents, Homer Giek and Lucille Giek (Woods); and his stepfather Tilford "Doc" Beck. He is survived by : his wife Virginia Lesley; his children, Julie Cassiday (Brian) of Winter Garden, FL, Kevin Giek (Melanie) of Peru, IN and Eric Giek of Peru, IN; his grandchildren, Joshua Cassiday of Carmel, IN, Zachary Cassiday of Carmel, IN, Tyler Cassiday (Sammantha) of Anderson, IN, Jared Giek of Peru, IN, Baylie Giek of Peru, IN and Brandon Giek (Kyla) of Warsaw, IN; his great grandchildren, Henry Cassiday of Anderson, IN and Maeve Cassiday of Anderson, IN; and his siblings, Nancy Robison (David), Sara McGuire (Mike) and David Beck (Chris).

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home to the American Cancer Society.
