He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Bowling and Nellie Bowling (Swan); his wife Maleeda; his children, Linda Renee McDonald and John Alan Bowling; and his brothers, Karl and Jerome Bowling.

He is survived by : his sons, Richard Edward Joseph Bowling and Edward Lee Bowling II; his grandchildren, Apryl Leigh Bowling Hill, Holly Elaine Bowling and Theresa Bowling; and his sister Margaret Bowling.
