We announce the death of Charles E. Mayo (Plainfield, Indiana), who passed away on September 17, 2026, at the age of 87. Charles will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mayo and Mattie Cordray; his daughter Kelly Franklin; and his siblings, Wayne, James, Bernard Mayo, Sally Stranger, Sherry Darling and Mary Jane Mayo.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Mayo; his children, Miley Price (Edward), Shelley Schrader (John), Kimberly Mayo and Charles Mayo; his siblings, Morris, Randy Mayo, Lois Eller, Becky Hoover and Nancy Mayo; and his son-in-law Rob Franklin. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home (106 Shaw St, Plainfield, IN 46168). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
